The Government of Sri Lanka, GoSL, has obtained funding support through the International Development Agency, IDA to assist it in the realization of its broad goals of developing and expanding the efficient and effective utilization of information and communication technology throughout the public and private sectors. The Information and Communication Technology Agency, ICTA, has been created as the apex government agency to oversee the development of ICT in Sri Lanka and to implement the project. Within the IDA project, a funding facility has been established as an ICT Capacity Building Program, ICBP.
